anil3a on how to limit gallery shortcode images for front page
i am using gallery shortcode gallery for every post to display related images. i almost had 20 images for one post so when i display recent posts in my home page, all images are shown and looks really messy and length home page while showing recent 3 post. can there be any way to limit the attached images of the post to few images with permalink to the post to show full images of that post. excerpt does limit the post text but does not work for images, i know. i also tried gallery extended for using attributes in gallery like gallery link file start 1 end 6 , and its more flexible for displaying desirable images in the post, but other remaining images are hidden. please help me in this.

i am looking for a way to allow readers to post comments tied to a particular word or sentence in a blog, rather than comments at the end of a blog post. they should appear something like those ads or definitions that pop up when hovering over underlined words (sorry, but i can't find any right now to link). they should also be reader postable, like normal comments. is there a plugin i haven't found that can do this, or will i need to write it myself. thanks.

i read at http: codex.wordpress.org settingsprivacyscreen that if you have your site in a sub directory the wordpress blocks search engines settings do not work: note: the above only works if wordpress is installed in the site root and no robots.txt exists. is there another way to block search engines in a sub directory with wordpress. i already disallow all non registered users, but started wondering about search engines and the robots.txt after reading this article on the wordpress codex.

first of all, thanks for the wonderful plugin. it works perfectly without any hiccups. it would be helpful to have an action hook after wpinsertpost in the posttodb function. i want to set the post format of the posts that are published through postie as 'status'. right now i have to edit the plugin and add a setpostformat after wpinsertpost. but thats going to be overwritten the next time there's an update. any chance of you including some extra 'doaction' code in there.

webbasics on plugin: tinymce advanced seems to be broken in wp 3.2
okay, so just discovered something that helps me with this issue. can't believe i never noticed it before. each page editing screen (as do most screens in wp) has a 'screen options' tab. in there you can choose how many columns to display. selecting '1' moves all the right side panels to display underneath the content editor, therefore enlarging the editing space. minimising the left hand menu enlarges it even more. maximising your browser window even more voila. no need for formatting buttons in full screen mode hoorah. having the panels on the right was handy, but, i also think it may be more user friendly for the average, not so computer literate, joe bloggs (i.e. like many of my clients) to have these panels below the editor as it creates a nicer, more logical work flow for them.

just prompted to upgrade really simple twitter feed. i did. now i cannot see the tweets. but i can see just the dates the tweets were posted. previous version worked fine. tried different settings, nothing seems to help. any ideas how to fix. thanks.

yes the plugin appends wpcrrespond1 to the page url whenver the page is loaded. i have added the anchor near the top of the wp page template as a workaround but this is not optimum. i would like to just get rid of the anchor altogether. i looked throughthe plugin code but i cant determine which entry for wpcrrespond1 is the one in question as it is used extensively throught the code. can you tell me which code entry is driving this append to url or how to remove it.

whether i'm looking at my posts chronologically or grouped by a particular keyword or theme, or just the posts from a particular month and year, i can only see a certain number of posts. the older ones are invisible. it seems like the page only wants to be so long and i have no link for a page 2 or 3 of older posts. how can i get this put in. ps unfortunately the site was set up by someone who's no longer with us, so i'm kind of flying blind with wp, but i'll get it with a bit of advice.

your theme (suffusion.) is over riding the plugin's css with the following: .description display: none visibility: hidden that line is preventing the review text from displaying. i could update the plugin's css to override this also, but this is more a theme issue, so removing that line should fix the problem. i'm not sure where the description class would be used in the theme, so not sure what side effects it may have.
